Health including COVID-19 Preventive Measures

All incoming travellers must have a negative PRC COVID-19 test result dated up to 72 hours upon arrival. The Government of Cameroon requires a second rapid Covid-19 test at the Airport upon arrival. Ahead of departure, participants will take an Exit COVID 19 PCR test to exit Cameroon and to re-enter their countries of origin. Participants are requested to check the measures applicable in their resident country for return travel.

Arrangements have been made for the participants to take the PCR-test for Covid-19 at the Palais des Congrès and Hilton hotel. A COVID-19 testing booth shall be installed at the Conference venue. The PCR testing is free, and results are usually provided within 24 – 48 hours.

PS: All participants (national and international) are required to present Covid19 negative test results, to access the conference venue.

General preventive measures to observe during a stay in Yaoundé.  

Although participants will stay in Yaoundé less than a week, they are urged to comply to the preventive measures put in place:

    • Wearing a face mask at all times.
    • Regular handwashing with clean water and soap.
    • Physical distancing – 1,5 to 2 meters.

Anyone not wearing a mask in public can be potentially fined 6,000 CFA (11USD) by the Government of Cameroon.

Additionally, hotel staff will be present at the venue to carry out temperature checks and monitor compliance with laid down regulations such as use of face masks, hand washing/sanitizing, avoidance or handshakes and social distancing.

In addition, the yellow fever vaccine is required before stepping into the national territory of Cameroon.  A Yellow Card immunization certificate or card must be shown on arrival at the Nsimalen International Airport before departing. Participants should make sure that they have complied with all required vaccines.
